Carver's testimony in 1921, in favor of a tariff protection of the peanut industry, was what gave in the name, "Peanut Man". Although that wasn't all he did. He developed traveling schools, among other programs, to help educate farmers. |
Carver recieved the Spingarn Medal. In addition he was posthumously inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Carver was also the first African-American and non-President to have a monument decided to them. The monument is named, "The George Washington Carver Monument" |
